This Police Officer Helps Elderly, Disabled Man Get Onto the Bus, Praised by the Internet

An elderly man in a wheelchair was seated by a bench in Victorville, CA, waiting for the bus under the 100-degree desert sun when Deputy Nathan Sims saw him.

Deputy Sims walked up to him and sat with him on the bench, waiting for the bus to arrive.

While he had no idea, a stranger named John was touched by Deputy Sims’ kind act and captured both the deputy and the elderly man on his phone camera, documenting the moments that followed.

They sat and talked for 40 minutes until the bus arrived, and the elderly, disabled man was finally ready to leave after thanking the deputy.

In a world where people are often too busy to pause, Deputy Sims did more than just help an elderly man board a bus, he sat with him, talked with him, and made him feel seen for 40 minutes.

Just like Deputy Sims, this Iowa stranger refused to leave a lady crying in the middle of the store on a black Friday and hugged her until she gained composure.
