In 2012, Wyatt Erber from Illinois received praise and admiration after winning a $1,000 prize in a town scavenger hunt.
For any third-grade boy, it would have been exciting to keep that much money.
But for Wyatt, the first thing he did was suggest to his mother, Noelle, that they donate it to Cara, a 2-year-old girl battling Leukemia.

“He already understood what cancer was,” said Noelle.
“So after he won the money, he immediately called Cara’s mother, Trisha. She was incredibly touched and told him how much chemotherapy that money could buy. It was the sweetest thing ever.”

Moved by Wyatt’s generosity, a man from Canada sent him a letter along with $100 to contribute to Cara’s treatment.
“He’s always been a sweet boy, and I’m very lucky to call him my son,” said Wyatt’s mother.
