Russian Man Who Looks Like a 14-Year-Old Is Actually 37 Years Old

Denis Vashurin was born in 1987 but looks like he is 14 years old. He is actually 37. Due to a genetic malfunction, Denis stopped aging, though he is otherwise healthy and happy.

Denis carries his birth certificate everywhere he travels to prove his real age and convince traffic police that he’s not too young to drive or “fit in.” He often gets reactions of disbelief. For this reason, Denis moved to a small village in Russia, where he spends his time doing things he loves, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his partner.

At first, his youthful appearance didn’t bother him, but people began to notice it more during his teenage years. “When I realized that I would no longer change physically, I felt somewhat uneasy. I thought about how everything would be, how my life would go on, and whether it would be hard for me.”

Looking back, Denis reflects that he doesn’t need to explain himself every time someone gives him a look of disbelief. On the other hand, people who know him love him for who he is and even affectionately call him “grandpa,” including his long-term girlfriend, whom he has been with for the past four years. “We’ve known each other for a long time, so I didn’t have to prove my real age to her.”

While Denis is aware of his youthful appearance, he asks others not to judge him based on looks alone. “They haven’t lived in my body, so why judge?” he says.

Despite everything, Denis says he is very happy and grateful that at least he is healthy, and that matters more than appearance.

Denis also has an Instagram account with over 20,000 followers who love and support him.
