Marie Frey meets her 86th great-grandchild on her 86th birthday

Marie Frey was just approaching her 86th birthday, when she received a surprise - that she was a great-grandmother to her 86th great-granddaughter, who was named Blakely Grace Frey. She was the daughter of Marie’s fifth grandson and his wife and was born on June 23rd.

“It’s pretty good that she got to see her,” said Marie’s grandson, Kenny Frey.

Marie was born and raised in Ohio. While her husband passed away early on, in 2009, Marie raised their 15 children altogether (the oldest being 66 years old now), who then went on to have 68 children (Marie’s grandchildren) of their own. It included two sets of twins and six step-grandchildren. Now, Marie is also a great-grandmother to her 86 biological great-grandchildren. 

But the fact that she just had 86th surprise on her 86th birthday might indicate that 86 could be her lucky number. Otherwise, what are the odds of the numbers matching?

But for Marie, she has been a strong believer in kindness. As her grandson says, “She would go ‘out of her way,’ to be there, not only for her extended family, also for her neighbours and friends. She is also a strong believer in faith and family. No wonder, she has a strong support system, wherever she goes.  

Blakely was both 7 pounds, 5 ounces, just three days prior Marie’s birthday. Marie has opted to enjoy the welcoming of her great-granddaughter with a big smile and open arms. Cheers to the big family.
