83-year-old man in Canada buries 42 buses to create a nuclear fallout shelter. The bunker has facilities like chapel, gym, and laundry room. "I don't see the purpose of life, but rather, in service to my fellow man."
Bruce Beach, 83, began building his bunker in 1980, after taking the President's warnings seriously, about collecting canned goods, and building bunkers in case of a nuclear attack.

In attempts to build a bunker, which he named Ark Two, he bought 42 buses of $300 each, buried them, and covered them with concrete with several feet of soil.

"I have often been asked, 'why not get a life, enjoy life and quit worrying about doomsday?' The answer is that I don't see the purpose of life, nor happiness in life measured in how many rounds of golf I might play, but rather, in service to my fellow man," he says.
Bruce completed his project in 1985 and has become the local Hero of his community since then.
Some people call him "doomsayer." And Bruce replies, "I'm not a doomsayer because I'm very optimistic."
But for those who think Bruce's attempts are a little crazy, he replies, "I know that, but i don't mind. Bruce keeps on going, despite the pushbacks.

There have been times when the government has attempted to stop him, saying that Ark Two is a hazard, followed by sealing the bunker multiple times since 2000. Bruce would enter the bunker anyway. "The idea is not to create risk, but reduce risk," he says.
"It has been an interesting challenge to build the Ark, but as you can see - so far I have survived it," Bruce concluded.
