100 year old woman adopts dog no one wanted.
Johanna was ahead of her 101st birthday when she submitted a request to adopt a dog. She left the adoption counselor at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue a bit surprised. But it didn’t concern her because Johanna had a strong support system, including her daughter and caretaker.
When considering a dog match for Johanna, the adoption agency believed that Gnocchi the rescue dog would be a perfect fit for her. He has been rescued from a home with 22 dogs and no one had stepped up to adopt him. He was losing home until Johanna’s application turned up. Perhaps, Gnocchi was waiting for his soulmate to find him, and that’s exactly what happened.

After a quick video call, the adoption agency processed her application and Gnocchi now had a mom. He walked into her house and jumped straight into her lap.
It’s been a year now and Johanna is about to turn 102. But both of them are inseparable. “He brings me so much joy! I love it when he sits on my lap and keeps me company. Having Gnocchi in my life has given me someone to love and care for, and that makes a big difference at my age,” said Johanna.
Adopting pets can bring hope to the ones feeling hopeless. Just as it happened for these prisoners in Indiana who were allowed to adopt cats and feed them within their prison cells.
